Laminated log cabin

The growing popularity of laminated log technology is due to ability to combine two important features in the end product, namely, technological properties of laminated logsand natural properties of wood.

Laminated log houses have certain notable advantages over conventional log houses:

  • The house preserves all the wood benefits: wood ecology, comfort, good thermal properties and aesthetic appearance;
  • This technology allows houses construction all the year round. On the average it takes about four weeks to erect a house on the finished foundation;
  • Upon request the beams can be impregnated with protective or coloring substances.

There are some other important benefits of a laminated log house that are stipulated by peculiarities of the material:

  • The beams do not change their geometry and size during operation (shrinking does not exceed 1%);
  • Good heat insulating properties;
  • Comparatively low weight of wooden structures allows lighter and less expensive foundation;
  • Owing to high-quality face surfaces of beams the house does not need external and internal finishing;
  • Grooves and combs of laminated logs firmly fix the beam in the wall and do not allow moisture and cold in
  • Wood maintains natural moisture content inside the house thus creating favorable environment.
